Iron Springs Chateau

The Iron Springs Chateau at 444 Ruxton Avenue has staged audience-participation melodrama for more than 65 years: the audience boos the villain and cheers the hero, and the evening adds sing-alongs and a vaudeville-style musical revue. It performs on Friday and Saturday evenings. Dinner is served at 5:45, 6 or 6:15 pm in the Goldmine Room, built with the remains of the original Iron Springs structure, or the Chateau Room: a dinner salad, pot roast or herb-roasted chicken with sides, and fruit cobbler, with a vegetarian option on request. Doors open at 7 pm and the show starts at 7:30.

Prices effective January 2025 are $50 for dinner and show, $27.50 for the show only and $26.50 for dinner only; seniors 62 and over and military pay $48, $26 and $25, and children 12 and under $22, $12 and $13, with taxes and gratuity included and holiday and special-event prices possibly higher. The 2026 Summer/Fall melodrama ran from 26 June to 3 October; the 2026 Adult Halloween Special, the Rocky Horror Picture Show, plays on 16, 17, 23, 24, 29 and 30 October. The box office is open Tuesday to Saturday noon to 5 pm from 1 May to 31 August; from September to April its days and hours vary, and messages are answered within one business day. By day the Chateau also sells hiker parking for the Manitou Incline and other trails: $15 a car, cash only, valid four hours, first come, first served, with a limited number reservable from May to August.
